Help Needed for Medical Costs
I ask you to please read this, as I desperately need your help.
After taking a severe fall on July the 8th banging my head on the pavement, it was discovered two days later at hospital that I had suffered a broken neck after x-rays and a CT scan and was immediately admitted to hospital. Sequentially, I was given an MRI scan which revealed the break to be in a very precarious place, as a fractured piece of sharp bone is dangerously close to puncturing a blood vessel which could cause internal bleeding with catastrophic consequences. There is the possibility of nerve damage as well and surgery if the injuries persist, so it is imperative that I stay in hospital per doctor's orders for the forseeable future, as it is much too dangerous for me to be discharged as my condition now stands. Furthermore, I must remain lying down flat on my back with a neck brace on at all times which is making life extremely uncomfortable. The prognosis is there is a good chance I will make a full recovery, but the process will be very slow.
The problem is that my medical costs are mounting day by day affecting my emotional wellbeing even further - they already stand at £2000 including insurance coverage and are rising daily. My insurance only covers a very small percentage of the medical costs so far and does not cover the room costs at all. I have many future scans and an indefinite time in hospital; the costs could easily hit £4000. I don't currently have any savings, so my ability to pay for anywhere near this amount of hospital fees is nonexistant.
I'm terribly worried about this situation, especially with the current condition I am in while in hospital in severe pain, unable to work or return to a normal life. I've just had to cancel my plane ticket back home to England to see family in August which has added to my emotional stress. I feel terrible asking you all for financial assistance as this is not something I feel comfortable with, but I'm in a bit of a desperate situation and the stress is not helping my recovery process or mental wellbeing.
Any possible help you can give financially - however small - would be greatly appreciated and I'd thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Thank you so much for any help you can give.
