Help Needed for Logan's Medical Bills

Donation protected

UPDATE #2
The hospital has lowered the bill to $12,000 and is looking to see if they can lower it further. We've adjusted our campaign goal accordingly to $8,500. If you would like to adjust your donation, please let us know.

UPDATE:
We lost our dear sweet boy Logan yesterday due to complications due to blood clotting. Anyone who knew this dear sweet boy loved him and our hearts are completely broken. We feel like it can't even be real and like the world should have stopped by now. We see him everywhere we look. He fought so hard, but in the end, a blood clotting disorder forced us to make the Most difficult and most compassionate decision. I asked him to tell me what he needed and he did. He was kind, friendly to all, and gentle. He was a gently giant and everyone was always so impressed with him for this reason. We were so proud of him for this as well. He asked for nothing but to be with us. Logie was a Good boy and a Smart boy. He was my son. His favorite things were: walks, car rides to anywhere, visiting friends and relatives, playing hide and go seek, playing with his "kittens", and his babies. He loved little animals. He had three babies at the time of his death: pink teddy bear baby, two ropes baby (one for Logie, one for Mother), and a Felice Navidad baby. Prior babies included Lamby & Moose baby. Mother and Logie loved chasing each other and stealing these babies from each other. Logie and Mommy loved the snow, And Logie especially loved to catch snowballs and chase sleds. He loved getting facials from Daddy and overseeing projects in the garage. Logie was always helpful with chores just by being present. We love you, Logie and we miss you So So much. A world without a Logie isn't nearly as wonderful. You are forever in our hearts and on our minds. Little Gregory must be so happy to see you in Heaven.  You blessed us every day of our lives.
Love, Mama, Daddy, Piggy, Pebbles, Biggie, Harry and yes...even Ron.

Despite this dreadful and tragic outcome, we still hope we can count on your support.

ORIGINAL POST:
Logan, my beautiful German Shepherd, went into emergency surgery for a ruptured gallbladder this past weekend. Doctors found they needed to remove his spleen and 1/3 of his liver. He almost died on the operating table due to extensive blood loss so he needed to be transfused. He's been in the ICU for 3 days and could be there for up to 10 days as they monitor his low red blood cell count and kidney function.

The hospital provided an estimate of the cost between $8,900 to $10,200. They have been treating Logan without informing us that his bill is now over $18,000 (updated).

Logan is 11 years old and was rescued when he was 4. He wants to come home to be with us and his brother, Fergus (pot belly pig). He is such a lovable boy that always treats other animals gently. We can't see a world without our beloved Logan in it and we are deeply appreciative of any help you can provide.

At Clover Nook Farm breathing in the gentle breeze and the smell of fresh flowers...I know he is smelling them in Heaven.

These two brothers grew up together. One passed too soon.

Logie didn't mind baths, at all. As long as we were together.

This boy was a gentle boy who loved everyone. The groundhog had been released from wildlife rehab two years prior. We continued to see him until age 4.

The only estimate we ever received from the hospital...
