Can you help this visiting Ukrainian Family?

Donation protected
Sadly, we can't help all the Ukrainians, but we can help this family of five, Vasyl Prischak (DAD), Marina Samylkina (MOM) and daughters Maria (16 years), Sofia (10 years) and Kseniia (5 years). Last month they arrived on Oahu for a much-anticipated vacation. Within days, their homeland was invaded, their town of Kyiv bombarded, their well-respected business destroyed, and communication with friends and family cut off. Hours on the phone trying to reach the Ukrainian embassy has been met only with busy signals. The Ukrainian Consulate is unreachable. The banking system in Ukraine is a shambles, and they cannot access any of their accounts. None of us can even imagine going on a vacation only to find the life left no longer exists.

How can you help? Support is needed for all life's necessities. They need housing and are temporarily staying in a home until the end of the month. The older girls want and need to go to school. Transportation is needed. All funds donated through this website will go directly to the family through Bank of Hawai'i.

Even the smallest donation will make a difference. To a country half a world away, these five Ukrainians are our touchpoint. Today we can help this Ukrainian family who took a vacation and will never return to the home they knew. Let's bring hope to their lives by sharing our aloha. Mahalo for caring and helping!

As an update GOFund me has asked for this information:
How am I related to the beneficiary? I am part of an outrigger paddling community in Hawaii and was called to help by a friend who knew the family was here on vacation and could not return. We  put together the go fund me account. I was able to get to know the family and they have been living in a home my family owns in Kailua.

How will the funds be transferred?  Initially they were set up to go directly to the family. Because the family is from the Ukraine they do not have a social security cards. At Gofund Me recommendation we switch transfer of the funds to me, the organizer who is a Hawaii resident. The family has approved this in writing and I will transfer funds immediately to their Bank of Hawaii account.

What will the funds be used for? This family of five has lost everything. They cannot work on their visitor visa. Housing, food, clothing, transportation. The funds will help them survive through loosing their homeland.
