Nedal is a displaced teenager from Khan Yunis in the Gaza Strip, and he needs our help / donations to survive.
- July 20, 2025: "We are starving, my mother. We do not find what I eat because of the crazy prices, the $ 1400 was not enough for two days." - Nedal
- June 6, 2025: "Thank you very much, all my family thank you and pray for you." - Nedal
- June 5, 2025: "The price [of meat] per kilo is $250." - Nedal
- May 2, 2025: "The price of the flour bag today has reached $500 and we have not had a loaf of bread for a week." - Nedal
- He just turned 16 in April 2025.
- He and his family have been displaced seven times in the last year and a half.
- Nedal needs our help to survive a warzone, in part by raising enough money and support to sustain his family of six: himself, three younger siblings, and his parents.
I was in daily message, voice, and video call contact with Nedal for a time in 2024; between having my work hours increase last fall and the increasing difficulties for Nedal, I have been in less frequent but regular contact with him. I didn't update this campaign for a while but am back to making sure I continue to post updates from him regularly.
He is a teenager who has worked hard to get by and to organize some support.

My name is Rebecca. I am coordinating fundraising for Nedal’s campaign. I live in the Pacific Northwest; I'm an elder millennial, and I work as a public servant. Initially, in 2024, we were working on finding him a way to travel to the USA where I would have hosted him while he finished a high school education. Now, in 2025, with increasing devastation and more displacements for Nedal's family, the fundraising is focused on daily survival.
Funds Spending and Transfer
April 2025: We are actively seeking donations for daily survival which will be forwarded to Nedal by international wire (IBAN transfer) if there is enough to warrant the $45 USD bank fee. Alternatively, we'll send the funds by a PayPal that Nedal had access to through someone in his area.
March 2025: The previously missing funds were returned to the fundraising account. Rebecca re-sent the $1900+ via IBAN, and it went through this time!
December 2024: Rebecca continued submitting official requests to identify the location and status of the missing funds sent by IBAN transfer. We paused accepting donations.
November 2024: Nearly 2K of funds sent by IBAN have not been delivered to the account, and Rebecca's bank doesn't have any information to offer other than agreeing to help submit requests for information on the wire.
October 2024: Rebecca sent the rest of what had been collected here on GFM along with some funds collected by other supporters by international wire / IBAN funds transfers to a Bank of Palestine account for Nedal's family. We are using IBAN now that Rebecca is set up for international wires because it is more affordable than PayPal.
August 9, 2024: Rebecca used PayPal that Nedal had access to through someone in this area. $520 was sent from this GFM campaign.
