Please support the Racine family as they recover from the devastating Eaton Wildfire that consumed their home and everything they own in Altadena on January 8, 2025.

Ned Racine, his wife, and son along with their two pups and cat were able to evacuate safely, but unfortunately had to leave everything behind except for a few items they were able to grab on their way out.

Ned is not only an amazing coworker and friend to myself and many more, but has also been a vital part of LA Metro for the last 22 years. Beyond his career, Ned is a UCLA graduate with two degrees and a man of many talents. Over the years, he’s been a technical writer, editor, construction relations officer, playwright, novelist, husband, and father to two grown sons. He’s someone who’s dedicated his life to his family, his work, and his community in ways that inspire everyone around him. Ned’s wife is a retired teacher who is disabled, and together they’ve built a life full of love and resilience.

Ned is a lifelong Southern Californian, whose roots are deeply planted here, and they can’t imagine being anywhere else. This is where their life and community are, and they’re determined to remain connected to the place they call home.

This loss is beyond heartbreaking, and I’m hoping we can come together to support the Racine family during this incredibly difficult time.
