Help Nechako Students Replace Their Tree

Donation protected
At the end of the 2019-2020 school year, vandals entered the Nechako Elementary school grounds and tore down a young tree that the Green Club students had planted the year before. We would like it replaced.

(Remains of the tree.)

This tree wasn't planted as decoration for the school. It was planted as a way to try and make a difference in the community. This tree meant a lot to the students who planted and buried their poems under it.

The staff, who are concerned with this wanton act of destruction, are reaching out to the community for your help.

Before the end of the school year, concerns were raised about the level of security around the school, which affects the surrounding community. To that end, we're hoping to have greater measures in place to deter vandalism in and around the Nechako area.

Once these measures are fully in place, we're hoping to plant a new tree. This is where we're asking for help.

We're asking for your donations to purchase 2 new trees.

Our hope is that we can plant a new symbol for our Green Club, and we would also like to ensure that at least 1 of those trees survives should either of them not take.

To ensure their survival, we're considering the purchase of the following:

1) Decorative Cherry Blossom

2) Eastern Redbud

These trees would not be planted right away as we would still need to ensure their safety before being planted. But until that time, your support for our efforts would not only be appreciated by us, but by the students of the Green Club as well.
