Meet Nebula, our 8 month old sweetheart who has captured our hearts. From what we’ve been told, Nebula has had a murky past and a rocky history, she was the runt of her litter, and abandoned by her breeders because they believed she wouldn’t be able to breed with their males. She was dumped and abandoned. She came to us from a loving foster mommy who helped get her healthy and up to date on all of her shots and vaccines. She’s been with us happy, healthy, and spoiled with love for the past 3 months.

Unfortunately, within the past week Nebula’s health has rapidly declined. After dozens of vet visits, x-rays, bloodwork, and an ultrasound it was determined that she would need surgery for a very complex liver procedure, essentially an internal liver shunt repair. The materials alone for this procedure are around $10,000+. The surgery once performed typically allows the dog to have a normal healthy life, which is why we are willing to take a chance on it.

My wife Jackie and I have never asked for assistance before with pet care, so this has been a difficult endeavor from the start for us. We have two other dogs, and three cats. Previously we had two beautiful pit bulls that lived long and healthy lives. We’ve always been self-sufficient and do our best to remain so. And as stubborn and loving as we are, we just aren’t willing to let Nebula go and we want to give her the chance at a healthy life after all she’s been through.

This surgery is a bit beyond our means
