I am Jennifer and im starting this gofundme for my mom, Nealie and my stepdad Randy. My mom was diagnosed last year with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (never a smoker). We had no idea at the time of diagnosis what all that illness entailed, but she is now in a desperate fight for her life. Lately her oxygen has not met her body's demand and her lung function is declining. After suffering a serious episode, she is currently hospitalized in ICU since a week ago and awaiting approval to be transferred downstate to another hospital for a lung transplant evaluation. We are praying that a lung is found for her and that she will be a good candidate for the transplant and that it will not only improve her quality of life, but give her a chance to survive. Her disease has progressed so very quickly forcing her to leave her job behind. With no warning beyond just a couple days notice, my dad is having to pack up and move them downstate to live with me and my family of four so we can support each other in caring for her once she is able to be released, especially if she is accepted for this very serious life-saving surgery. I know they will be so grateful for any donations that can be made which will be used to pay for my mom's overwhelming medical bills, equipment needs, oxygen machine rental, costs associated with moving their entire life four hours downstate, with their monthly bills after losing an income, and any other needs that they may have during this difficult time. My parents are humble hardworking people who are not used to asking for help, and this is such a delicate thing to ask, but I know it will mean a great deal if they are able to have some help in lifting what seems like the world off of their shoulders right now. I am hoping to raise enough so that my stepdad can focus on his own health and being near my mom during these critical months rather than worrying about coming out of retirement to find a job that will keep them afloat. Anyone who personally knows them knows that they wouldnt hesitate to lend a hand to someone in a similar boat. Please be in prayer for them both, and for my entire family.
