Hi, my name is Leah (York) O'Mara. My father Neal York normally lives in Colorado but has been in the hospital in California with COVID since January 7th, 2022. We made the decision to bring him into urgent care and then admission to the hospital when his blood oxygen level dropped below 90 when monitoring at home. He is currently on oxygen at the hospital, and being administered different medications (such as remdesivir, dexamethasone, blood thinners, etc) to help treat and hopefully recover from COVID and viral pneumonia. We have been following up with him, his doctors, and nurses over the phone every day since at this time with him having an active COVID infection no visitors are permitted. We truly appreciate the work that all of the doctors and nurses are doing to help him right now. Any positive messages, cards / prayers from you will help to encourage my dad to gain strength and recover as well. Thank you for thinking of him and cheering him on!

The reason I started this fundraising campaign is that unfortunately at the time of his admission to the hospital, my dad did not / does not yet have medical insurance. However, we felt that this should not impact our decision to get him medical attention and life-saving care when he needs it most. He as an individual and us as a family will be paying for the hospital bill and at home health care at my home here in San Diego during his anticipated recovery. All donations received from this campaign are tax deductible and will go directly to help pay for his medical bills due to COVID and ease the financial burden during this difficult time for him.
