Hello, my name is Heather. I am making this gofund me for my step mom Terri Hood. On October 6th, 2021 my step mom had a stroke. The stroke caused bleeding in her brain, and also caused two spots on her brain to become damaged. They placed her on life support, and treated her with iv medication in order to try to stop the bleed. Thankfully after a few days she was stable enough to drill a hole and drain out the blood and decrease the pressure inside her head. Since then she has received a tracheostomy and they have placed a feeding tube in her stomach in order to give her nutrition and oral medication. She has recently become more alert and is starting to follow commands on her left side, but still working on her right side. At the time of the incident Nay did not have any health insurance. We are currently in the process of trying to get coverage for her, but the bills are already starting to come in. Nay still has a very long road ahead of her. It has been hard on the family emotionally to see our loved one suffering and not knowing what the future will hold. Everyday she gets a little stronger thanks to everyone's prayers. My dad tries to work, then goes to be by her side everyday. My dad is a very kind and hard working soul. He would work 24 hours a day if he could in order to take care of his family. With my dad already having had a massive heart attack a couple years ago, along with worrying about his loved one is too much. He is never one to ask for help even when he needs it. He is always thinking about everyone else before himself. If you are able to donate anything you would have no idea how much it would mean to our family. If you are unable to donate continuing to pray would also be very much appreciated. We are learning to adapt, adjust and do whatever we can to help support our wife, mom, granny, sister, aunt, cousin, friend. Thank you everyone for your support. We love you.
