Dear friends, family, and compassionate strangers,
My sister, Ann Davidson, has always been the kind of person who shows up. Earlier in her life, she joined the Navy and served in Kuwait (a sacrifice few of us truly understand).
After her military service, she continued to choose the path of service, working in government to help others and keep our country’s military operational.
She’s also a wife and mother whose dedication has produced two exceptional children: her son was recently accepted to the Navy Delayed Entry, a proud, hopeful moment, and her daughter is graduating early to begin veterinary school, already following Ann’s devotion to caring for animals (Ann’s home is full of love and the joyful chaos of four rescued dogs who were lucky to find her).
This summer, Ann was thrust into a new battle: breast cancer. She has already completed five rounds of chemotherapy, walking into treatment with courage, humor, and that steady kindness that makes everyone around her feel safer.
But there is more work to do: months of radiation and immunotherapy. The cost is not only financial (though the bills are real and growing), it’s the lost wages, the living expense logistics, the travel to and from appointments, and the emotional labor of facing cancer while trying to hold a family together.
That’s where we, her community, come in.
We’re raising $10,000 to cover:
• Radiation and immunotherapy costs and co-pays
• Medical supplies, prescriptions, and outpatient care
• Travel for treatment appointments
• Living and household expenses while Ann continues to fight this battle
Ann has given so much of herself, her time, and her heart. She’s the first to volunteer, the one who brings casseroles when a neighbor is sick, the friend who shows up. I’ve seen her give tirelessly without ever asking for anything in return. It’s our turn to lift her up.
