**UPDATE** John's health has taken a turn for the worse. He has begun having hallucinations, "trasitional Parkinson's", he's not recognizing the people closest to him. He's stopped eating and is taking only sips of water. We are having to have sitters with him more often and we don't have the luxury of time to get the State on board to help with that financial cost. We have been told that it shouldn't be long now before he transitions to the next life. We are now collecting funds for his creation and interment. John was adamant about wanting to be creamated. We realize it's the holiday season, but we really need your help. If you have any questions, you may reach out to Maria Duarte at [phone redacted]
This man, John Elliott Puckette, served his country for 12 years in the Korean War in the U.S. Navy. He has been an active church member for 60 years, writing programs for Sunday services.
Now he has myriad health problems, including a blood clot in his leg, poor eyes and hearing, is at risk of kidney failure, and is no longer able to live by himself. John needs life-saving blood thinning medication and help paying for assisted living, new clothes, a wheelchair, and medical expenses.
With no close living relatives, he needs community support through this difficult period of his life. Any bit helps!
