My dear friend Naty and her family are facing an unimaginable crisis. On March 2nd, her husband, Hernan Alcides Grattone Mc Gauley, was pulled over by a state trooper and, without warning, was handed over to ICE. Hernán has a work visa from his country of Argentina, that expires in 2029. They have applied for citizenship years ago and the week before had gone for an interview regarding their citizenship status! For days, there was no record of where he was, and the family was left in the dark, terrified and desperate for answers. Eventually, they learned he was being moved between detention centers, despite having a lawyer and all the necessary paperwork sent to ICE. There is no reason for him to be held, yet he remains separated from his family, and their lives have been turned upside down.
Naty and her husband are the heart of their community. They are caring, hard-working people who just bought a house and have always been there for others. Hernán, her husband, has helped me with my horses, repaired things around my place, and their kids have played with my animals and even farm-sat for me. Now, with Hernán detained, the family is struggling to pay their bills and are at risk of losing everything they have worked so hard for. The fear and uncertainty have left them afraid to even leave their home.
I have known and adored this family for years, and it breaks my heart to see them in this situation. If you can spare anything to help them cover their bills and keep their home while they fight for Hernán's return, it would mean the world. Thank you for supporting this wonderful family during such a difficult time.
