Raleigh International brings together young people from around the world to work on projects that protect the environment, support communities, and build a fairer, more sustainable future.

In Spring 2025, I’ll be returning to Costa Rica as a Venturer Manager, after volunteering already there as a VM in 2023. During my last expedition, I saw what happens when young people are given the chance to step outside their comfort zones — they grow in confidence, courage, teamwork, and purpose.

I watched volunteers overcome challenges they never thought they could face, lead others with empathy, and form lifelong friendships across cultures. It was inspiring, and it showed me how powerful these experiences are in shaping future leaders.

But for many young Costa Ricans, that opportunity remains out of reach. Despite their motivation and potential, the cost of joining Raleigh International can be too high. These are passionate, capable young people who want to make a difference in their own communities — but they simply need a helping hand to get there.
