Help Nathan’s Recovery
Donation protected
This is my husband Nathan. On July 4, 2019, he had a diving accident and broke his neck while we were vacationing in Cabo, Mexico. After the accident, he could not feel or move anything below his neck. He had a 12 hour surgery with a wonderful neurosurgeon in Cabo, Dr. Raul Rincon-Navarro. After the surgery, he was able to feel and move his shoulders. He stayed at the hospital in Cabo for 6 days in their ICU before we were able to secure a flight home to San Diego. We then spent 6 days at Kaiser Medical Center of San Diego before transferring Nathan to Sharp Acute Rehab. Nathan is just the best person in the world. He has such a great attitude and is working on trying to move other muscles. So far, he has been able to move his biceps, elbow flexers, and a little bit of his wrists.
Insurance will only cover Nathan in Acute Rehab for so long, and then they will call him "rehabbed" and send him home for us to continue his recovery. There will need to be a lot of modifications to the house we will have to do: bathroom modifications to fit a wheelchair, wheelchair lift up the stairs, etc. We are starting this GoFundMe account together to assist with the post rehab home health care requirements. Anything helps! We so appreciate everyone's support, love, and prayers. Feel free to share this with anyone that might want to participate in Nathan's rehabilitation.
