Hi, my name is Nathan, and I’m writing this for my dad.
My dad has been diagnosed with an acoustic neuroma, a tumor that grows on the nerve responsible for hearing and balance. Because of this, he has completely lost hearing in his left ear. Over time, this condition has begun to affect more than just his hearing.
Recently, my dad has been experiencing what his doctors have referred to as “blackout episodes.” During these episodes, he suddenly becomes disoriented and unsteady, and at times briefly loses awareness. While the exact cause is still being evaluated, doctors believe these episodes may be related to the tumor’s impact on his balance and nervous system. These events have been frightening for our family and have added urgency to his need for surgery.
Surgery is necessary to prevent further complications, and it is scheduled for January 20th.
This situation is especially difficult because my dad has already been disabled for several years due to another medical condition and has been unable to work. Right now, my mom is the only one working, and she is doing everything she can to support our family and keep up with medical expenses.
The estimated cost for my dad’s surgery alone is $89,122, as shown in the image shared. Unfortunately, insurance is refusing to help cover the cost. On top of this, my dad requires monthly injections that cost approximately $2,000, which have been an ongoing financial strain.
I’m reaching out for help because there is simply no way my parents can afford this on their own. They have never been the kind of people to ask for help, but this situation has left us with no other option. My goal is to ease some of this burden so my dad can focus on getting through surgery and recovery.
Any donation, no matter how small, truly means the world to us. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser is just as helpful. Thank you for taking the time to read our story and for any support you’re able to give.
