Support for Kristin’s Care & Nate’s Transition

Hi everyone, my name is Nate Camorlinga. For those of you who know us, you know that my mom is my world. For those who don’t, I’d like to share a bit about our journey and why I’m reaching out for support today.

The Current Situation

My Mom is never sick so when she fell on the kitchen floor last Tuesday night, we knew something wasn't right. It turns out that after much testing, she has a pretty aggressive form of brain cancer.

The tumor was removed on Monday last week and we are awaiting pathology results to learn next steps in her treatment/care. This whole situation has been like an earthquake in my family. There is so much upheaval to deal with: the emotional turmoil, financial stress, treatment decisions to make, day to day disruptions with work and life, etc... This kind of health issue is not only scary from a survival perspective, but also when it comes to financial stability/livelihood.

The medical bills can be astronomical. I am very concerned quite frankly that as my Mom has had to put her new business aside, she is not at very secure place with reliable and consistent income needed to safely pay off her treatment bills. This is the MAIN reason I am going to the public for help. I love my Mom more than life itself and will do anything to help her live. If you understand this and are able/willing to throw a few dollars our way, I can't tell you how much that would help.

I should also let you know that I plan on helping my Mom as much as I can with my own efforts/ jobs and income. I am a recent graduate in the field of computer science. It’s a field I’m passionate about, and I’m eager to start my career, secure health insurance, and begin my life as a working professional. I've certainly had my ups and downs during my college years. My Mom has been a consistent and unconditional source of support through it all.

So, for the past two years, I have been living full time with my Mom and helping her in whatever I can. While being there for her has been my greatest honor, it has also meant putting my career and financial stability on hold. To step into a full-time role and provide for our future, I need to ensure my mom has the professional care and resources she deserves while I am at work.
