Help Nathan while he recovers from surgery
Donation protected
Hello everyone, thanks for visiting my fundraising page for my friend Nathan Magee. A plumber by trade Nate suffered a bad injury in an elevator accident last April which requires abdominal surgery and further medical treatment on his back to be determined because multiple issues. Due to COVID Nate hasn't been able to get his surgery booked until Jan 20th, and only given a few weeks to make arrangements as he will have to be taken care of and stay in bed for 6 weeks after. He has been unable to work since the accident and can no longer afford basic necessities to himself or his daughter. It has been a hard time for him and his daughter both emotionally and physically. Zoe has become his aid and she's only 11.
The reason I'm making this fundraiser for him is that to make matters worse the insurance company called the elevator accident an "Act of God" due to it being caused by a power outage in the area. This is unacceptable. If you've ever been on an elevator would you accept that an injury sustained from a drop of 1 to 2 floors was an act of God? Would that be considered "safe" for people to ride on? Unfortunately, compounding this problem is that no lawyer can take the case due to being in conflict with the insurance company. The insurance company has every available law firm on retainer, preventing legal action or arbitration from taking place, leaving Nate penniless, broken, and without the ability to work. I know everyone wants to retire early, but not like this.
Please consider helping my friend. First he needs money for basic necessities like food, shelter, and bills. Second we'd like if you'd consider helping him out if you have any legal expertise or can help in some way, shape, or form.
Thank you for reading and your consideration. Please share and help my friend out if you can.
