Help Nathan the Hero Carpenter

Donation protected
On Monday evening February 12th at 6:30, my second son, Nathan Koon was involved in an accident returning from Alabama where he was doing carpentry finish work on a new home for his mother-in-law. A young man pulled out in front of him on Franklin Highway and Nathan hit him at 50 miles per hour. The young man walked away without injury, but Nathan had to be transported to the hospital in Newnan. The EMTs found him passed out on the ground after climbing out of his truck. It has been over four weeks now and he is still under doctor’s care, and they have yet to release him to return to work. He has severe whiplash, a concussion, and now it appears a bulging disc in his lower back. As a self-employed carpenter running a one-man business called Hero Carpentry the lack of income has put a strain on his family. The other driver had only minimal coverage and the insurance company is only willing to give him $7,800 to replace the totaled F250 work truck. Finding a comparable vehicle has been a futile effort. Being self-employed and the sole financial provider for his family, he is struggling to make ends meet, which has only added to the stress.

Nathan is 31 years old; He is a master carpenter and takes great pride in his work. As for the name of his company, many people think he named it Hero Carpentry because he is a veteran; he served in the US Coast Guard. But if you ask him, he will tell you that he named his company for his Hero, Jesus Christ. Nathan is a worship leader in his church and knows how to cut loose on a guitar but since the accident doing so is a painful ordeal. He also enjoys writing songs and tried out for American Idol several years ago. As a loving husband and the father of three beautiful girls he is anxious to get back to work so that he can take care of his family. His mother and I are doing what we can to help but his needs are greater than what we can do because of our own medical expenses the past few years. Just today I paid the remaining hospital balance of $15,000 from our time in the hospital in 2021. “God made away where there seemed to be no way.”

In this challenging time, I know Nathan would greatly appreciate your prayers. I prayed with Nathan and Stephanie this past week and reminded them of Paul’s words to the Corinthians. “We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.”

Nathan is a proud man and would never ask others for help, but as his dad, I see not only the physical pain he is in but the emotional and spiritual grief from not being able to be the breadwinner of the family. He needs a reliable vehicle and the ability to pay his monthly bills so as a concerned father I am asking on his behalf. Throughout my life I have experienced the love of compassionate people willing to help as needed.

So, I humbly appeal to your generosity. Your support of any size will provide much-needed financial support for Nathan and his family as they navigate through this challenging time.

Thank you for your consideration and may God bless you!!
