Help Nathan go to Finland

As many of you know, our 23 year-old son, Nathan Peacock, recently won the gold medal at the ITF (International Taekwondo Federation) National Championships in May. He is now ranked No. 1 in all weight classes in Canada.

He was selected to represent Canada at the World Championships to be held in Tampere, Finland this September. Nathan started at six years old at our local club in Cochrane, Alberta, Trinity TKD under the instruction of Cam Macdonald, earned his black belt at age 13 and has been instructing ever since. He is currently a 3rd-degree black belt. Competing at the World level will be a life-changing experience for him.

He received an invitation to go, but ITF offers virtually no financial support for his equipment, registration, travel, lodging, and training. He will be responsible for the bulk of this.

We are so proud of Nathan and would love to see him compete in this world arena.

We estimate total cost of the three of us going to be around $6000. Nathan has applied for a scholarship from his employer Sport Chek, and if that comes through, it would help considerably. Any excess funds will go towards Nathan’s continued training and competition.
