Hello my name is Nathan , I’m 26 years of age and I’m reaching out because I’m facing a difficult chapter in my life. Whilst being homeless I’ve been struggling with ulcerative colitis, a medical condition that has made it hard to keep up with daily life and expenses. 

In late 2023 I made a big change in my life and moved to Florida . I took on a culinary position at a nice modern coastal restaurant which led to me working 80 hour weeks. The kitchen is the one place I can escape , for a moment , from all the thinking, and just focus on the tasks at hand. I worked hard and rose fast but the long hard work took a toll on me and eventually lead me to having almost 100 crp levels . For those who don’t know this is off the charts , skyrocketing number for inflammation. In one month I lost 100 pounds and had to come back to mass for healthcare . Gastroenterologists said it was one of the worst cases they’ve seen and somewhat of a miracle I didn’t have to get a colostomy bag. For a while I had to rebuild my strength , I could barely walk coming out of the hospital. Didn’t end up working again until fall 2024 and became homeless living in car since spring 2025. 

Despite these challenges, I’m doing my best to stay blessed and strong. I have a job and am working hard to save up, but the costs of medical care, housing, car insurance, phone and daily essentials are overwhelming—especially during winter.  The cold months make everything harder, and I’m worried about staying safe and healthy while I work toward stability. 

I’ve always prided myself on having a big heart and a strong work ethic, and I’m determined to get back on my feet.
