Hello, my name is Nathan. I’m 33 years old and a proud dad to my 8-year-old daughter, Daisy.
In May 2023, our lives changed forever when Daisy was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes, a condition that requires lifelong treatment and constant management. Just three months later, in August 2023, I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. Both diagnoses have changed mine and Daisy’s lives in many ways — physically, emotionally, and in how we live day to day.
I began my MS treatment one month after diagnosis, starting Ocrelizumab (Ocrevus), a highly effective disease-modifying therapy that I now receive every six months.
At the time, I weighed over 22 stone. Like many families facing life-changing news, it took time to process everything we were dealing with. In February 2025, I made the decision to fully focus on my health. With the help of Mounjaro, alongside a lot of hard work, commitment, and lifestyle changes, I’ve since managed to get myself into the 14-stone bracket, giving my body the best possible chance of coping with long-term treatment.
Daisy faces her own daily challenges. She uses a Dexcom system, which provides blood glucose readings every five minutes, and an Omnipod insulin pump, which delivers insulin when she eats and helps correct high blood sugar levels. These technologies are life-changing, but they also highlight how constant and demanding Type 1 diabetes is — especially for a child.
Life for me and Daisy will never be the same, but we carry on every day.
I’ve always said I wanted to do a skydive (or at least liked the idea of it — not actually doing it ). For Christmas, I was gifted a 15,000-ft skydive, and I felt it was only right to face that fear with a purpose.
I’m raising money for the two medical charities that have supported both myself and Daisy through our diagnoses:
• a multiple sclerosis charity
• a children’s diabetes charity
Any donation, no matter how small, would be massively appreciated and will help support families facing similar challenges.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read our story and for any support ❤️
