Everyone, I’m asking for your help.
Just a few days ago, some of my closest family members were involved in a serious car accident. A group of distracted teenagers turned left in front of them, totaling their vehicle and leaving them both injured. By the grace of God, their children were not in the car but the outcome could have been so much worse!
My cousin Nathan and his wife Ciara are both hurting and continuing to go through scans for other injuries. Ciara is dealing with severe whiplash, significant full body trauma, and ongoing pain that is impacting her daily life. Nathan suffered trauma to his hand & wrist, deep bruising throughout his body, a fractured vertebra and has been told he cannot return to work for at least 6–8 weeks.
Even then, his job as a mechanic is extremely physical and hard on the back, meaning he may only be able to return on light duty for some time. Because he is paid flat-rate (only earning income based on the work he completes) this means little to no income during his recovery, with continued uncertainty even after he returns.
To make things even more difficult, both Nathan and Ciara work for themselves, which means there are no company benefits, no paid leave, and no safety net to fall back on during this time.
If you’ve ever been through something like this, you know the physical pain is only part of it. There’s also the stress of medical bills, missed work, and the long, exhausting process of dealing with insurance companies often taking months, if not years, just to see any kind of support.
Nathan is a dedicated mechanic who helps run a small business, always willing to show up for others and never turning people away. Ciara is working tirelessly to build a nonprofit focused on helping women in difficult and unsafe situations find stability and independence.
They are also incredible parents to four kids and work hard every day to provide a loving, stable life for their family. Right now, they’re facing something completely out of their control and they shouldn’t have to carry it alone.
We are asking for any support you can give to help ease the financial burden during this time. Whether that’s covering medical expenses, lost income, or simply helping them stay afloat while they focus on healing.
No donation is too small, and if you’re not able to give, sharing this would mean just as much.
Thank you for showing up for them the way they’ve always shown up for others. ❤️
