Hello, my name is Nate. I am a full-time DoorDash driver, and I live in Wisconsin.
I recently was a victim of the flash floods in the Milwaukee area while I was working. My car drove fine for a few days and then out of nowhere, it lost all its oil and the engine caught on fire. My car is completely totaled and only had liability coverage as I was unable to afford full coverage on a low-cost vehicle. I work about 60 hours a week just to make ends meet and pay my basic necessity bills such as rent, food, student loan debt, insurance, medical bills, etc. I am currently looking for jobs close enough to my location that I can walk or work remotely, but as a convicted felon (drug charges THC) while in college, it has proven difficult even with years of work history in several different fields and an outstanding academic history.
This being said, I did work every day to keep up with my bills. I have never asked or received any help financially, and I feel ashamed that it has come to this point, but I’m not sure of any other options I have other than to ask for help.
I am asking for help in funding another vehicle as well as a couple of months of leniency while I get back on my feet and recover from these setbacks. I understand if you see this as a handout. I would be willing to work for the money if you have any odd jobs that I could help with in the meantime. Please don’t hesitate to reach out.
