Life can change in an instant. In November, our future son-in-law, Nate McQueen, was diagnosed with Astrocytoma IDH-Mutant Grade 4 brain cancer—a diagnosis no young couple ever expects. What began as headaches quickly escalated, and in just nine days, Nate underwent major brain surgery. On January 5, 2026, he began an aggressive treatment plan: six weeks of daily radiation and seven days a week of chemotherapy. The physical, emotional, and financial toll is immense. Nate is only 25—far too young to face this battle—but he meets it with courage, determination, and an unbreakable spirit. He researches his diagnosis, explores emerging treatments, and advocates for himself, sharing his journey to support others and spread awareness through his Facebook page - McQueen Cancer. He is also pursuing additional therapies not covered by insurance, hoping for more time and quality of life.

Montana, our daughter, works as a Social Worker for the VA, dedicating her life to helping others. Thanks to the generosity of colleagues, she has received donated leave hours, but her need to work still limits her time with Nate. If you are able to donate leave hours, it would be a priceless gift. We are asking for help so Montana does not have to choose between a paycheck and precious moments with the man she loves.

Funds raised will help with mounting medical bills, everyday living expenses, allowing Montana to step away from work, supplements, adjunct therapies, and non-traditional or off-label options not covered by insurance, giving Nate and Montana the opportunity to experience meaningful bucket-list moments together, and ongoing care and support as Nate continues his courageous fight. As time goes on, their needs will only grow. We cannot change Nate’s diagnosis, but we can change how much love, peace, and joy fills the time they have. If you are able to donate, share, or pray, you are giving more than money—you are giving time, memories, and hope. Thank you for standing with Nate and Montana during the fight of their lives.
