Help Nate Fight MS

Donation protected
Hi,

My name is Sandi Padilla. I am a board member of Soli Deo Gloria Choir. For the last several years Nathaniel Voelker has been our conductor. As a friend and fellow worship minister, my husband Steve and I have seen his servant's heart and the amazing ways that the community has been impacted through his gifts. One of my favorite memories was participating in the KEMUDA benefit concerts at Sunrise UMC raising scholarship funds for students in eastern Africa.

As Director of Worship and Arts, at Sunrise UMC, Artistic Director and Conductor of Soli Deo Gloria Choir, and Executive Director of Kenya Methodist University Development Association, Nate has tirelessly given of himself to others.  As we have watched Nate give so generously, now it's our turn to give back to him.

Over the past six months Nate has dealt with some significant health challenges, which led to temporarily losing the ability to walk. After seeing his primary care physician, then a neurologist, MRI testing, blood tests, and various other physical tests, Nate was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis; a chronic, typically progressive, neurological disease which can not be cured, only managed.

Nate has received partial grant funding to help offset costs. However, the pharmaceutical and physical treatments are beyond extremely expensive. This year alone the out of pocket cost is roughly $14,490. In our desire to assist Nate's family with the financial costs leading to the diagnosis, as well as the projected cost for treatment moving forward, the Sunrise Staff Parish Relations Committee of Sunrise UMC is partnering with the Board of Soli Deo Gloria Choir, in offering and communicating this Go Fund Me page where donations can be received.

Nate has already received treatment for his recent outbreak with positive results. Many of you may have seen him leading worship in the last month using crutches, then a cane, and recently with neither! Medication which comes next is about prevention of future outbreaks. One member of the Sunrise SPRC wrote to Nate, "You have touched many lives through your work and those lives aren’t just limited to the Sunrise congregation."

I hope that you will join Steve and I in supporting Nate's medical needs by prayerfully giving generously.
