Nathan is home today, January 21, 2022!!!
In six weeks time he has gone from being air-lifted to Trauma ICU, and headed home today to continue rehab! He will need to re-learn everyday tasks and movements and still has a long journey ahead of him.
Please keep him and family in your thoughts and prayers, it is so appreciated!!
Hey everyone, Lonnie and Wendy here. Stacey and Andrea Burger are our dearest and best friends. We’ve all known each other for 23 years, before their sons, Austin (19) and Nathan (17) were born. On Sunday, December 12, Nathan was in a terrible dirt bike accident in Seneca, SC.
He was air-lifted to Greenville Memorial with multiple life threatening injuries. He has a shattered occipital bone in the base of his skull and a broken pelvis. Pneumonia set into his lungs; thankfully this has been addressed.
Please keep praying for and sending good vibes to Nate and his family!! It is helping!!
December 28, 2021-update from Nathan’s parents.
Nate is still in ICU. He has been off the ventilator all day. Nate has been responsive to some simple commands last night and today.
They have taken him off a lot of his sedation medicine. This is good, but now he realizes how much pain he is in. It's tough, but good.
Thank you, Andrea and Stacey
We pray for Nate’s lungs to be healthy and strong. We pray for the nurses, medical staff and doctors that are helping Nate.
We pray for everyone to understand this may be a marathon and not a sprint, since the extent of his brain injury is not known at this time.
Please help Nate and his family if you can. Thank you.
