Help Natasha's Dream Bloom: A Flower Farm that Gives Back

Hi everyone! I’m reaching out with a dream that’s been close to my heart for years, which began when my girls were little. Bedtime snuggles were accompanied by our imaginings of being together on a beautiful flower farm, gathering flowers in the field, making them into little posies to sell at a roadside stall and gift them to friends, sharing beauty and kindness.

Now many years later, my girls have grown into young women living in the city, with the flower farm way out of reach. As for me, God came into my life, turned it around, brought me to rural living, and reignited my family’s dream through a generous offer from friends at Homegrown Organics - to use their field, tractor, polyhouse and water to grow flowers, all just 5 minutes from where I live!

That’s a pretty amazing blessing, especially now, considering I recently lost most of my work hours! Without savings or many job options I felt disheartened, asking what’s next? Instead of seeking some short-term income fix I thought, I’m going to trust God’s plan - it’s time to build a purpose driven life. So, I’m going to accept the offer, and use my freed-up time to pursue this flower farm dream, it’s just too good an opportunity to pass up and I know it will lead to something truly meaningful.

As well as building a successful business and sustainable income, I plan to grow an abundance of blooms, enough to share with the community, bringing joy, hope and kindness to those who need it most. I will be allocating some special stems each growing season to gift to lonely elderly, people with health issues, and families facing tough times. Wherever I can make the most impact. Our church group already feed those in need, so bringing some added brightness through flowers is a thoughtful gift when people are feeling down - I can’t wait to see the smiles the flowers will bring!

I’ve been learning from the best organic, regenerative farmers in the industry, from big overseas growers to small local family growers, fully immersing myself in everything flower farming - which I’ve been loving every minute of! This newfound knowledge along with my small business management background provides a great basis to start from, but……

To make this dream a reality, I need YOU to help me raise $20,000 within the next 2 months so I can catch the summer growing season.

These funds will cover essential expenses to get the farm up and running.

Here’s how:

• Farm setup - repairing fencing to protect the farm from cows, horses and kangaroos, irrigation, shed etc.

• Seed Raising - seeds, seedling trays, shelving, vermiculite etc.

• Planting & Harvesting – soil test & amendments, tools, garden cart, cool storage etc.

• Bouquet making supplies - floral wrap, stem cutter, display frame etc.

• + Marketing!

PS The farm has a name – Sagely Blooms - why that name?

Well Sagely means ‘a profoundly wise manner’, I think growing blooms wisely is a pretty good idea!

Sage is also the name of a herb – stage 2 on the farm will be growing herbs – think of that, gifting flowers AND a herbal tea blend. That is the gift of joy and health, now that’s pretty wise : )
