On Sunday, March 29th, our lives changed in an instant. While I was at work and my kids were safe at their nana’s house, my boyfriend was home when he heard a beeping sound coming from another room. When he opened the laundry room door, he was met with thick black smoke. He acted quickly, managing to save our dogs and get out of the house safely, but in those few moments, we lost everything we owned.

We are so grateful that everyone made it out safely, but the reality is that we are now starting over from scratch. Insurance will only cover a portion of our housing needs and unfortunately does not cover the many things we lost—our clothes, our kids’ essentials, and the basic items that make a house a home. The funds raised here will help us with immediate needs like clothing, temporary housing, and replacing the essentials for our family as we begin to rebuild.
