Support Natasha’s Fight Against Cancer

Six short weeks ago, my sister Natasha received a devastating diagnosis: an aggressive Squamous Cell Carcinoma (SCC) on her upper chest. SCC is a type of cancer that affects the skin, organs, and the respiratory and digestive tracts. As a single mother to two young boys we are asking for your help to ease the financial burden of her treatment so she can focus on healing.

In the short time since her diagnosis, the cancer has grown rapidly and aggressively. As a result, Natasha underwent a grueling 10-hour surgery to save her life. The surgery involved the partial removal of both clavicle bones (collar bones), part of her sternum and breast bone, and one rib. Surgeons also had to take a 20cm x 10cm skin and muscle graft from her left leg to close the surgical site on her chest.

Compounding the stress, just as Natasha was preparing for surgery, she was informed that the home she was renting had been sold, and she had to move out by the end of the month.

Her recovery has been incredibly difficult. Natasha is facing limited mobility, with loss of movement in her right arm and restricted motion in her head and neck. Even the simplest tasks have become nearly impossible. To make matters worse, we recently learned that the surgery did not remove all of the cancer. Due to the aggressive nature of her condition, Natasha will now need to undergo months of radiation treatment.

Natasha has always been one of the kindest, most selfless people I know. As a primary school teacher and counselor, she has dedicated her life to helping others, spreading positivity, and lifting people up. Just a few years ago, we lost our mother to a long and painful 12-year battle with leukemia. Natasha stood by her side through every step of that journey. Now, facing her own battle with cancer, we are asking for your support.
