After purchasing what they thought would be their dream home, they discovered severe hidden defects—rotting walls, a leaking roof, and major structural failures that put their safety at risk. They were literally pulling pieces of wood from their foundation that crumbled in their hands.

They hired a contractor, trusting him with nearly half a million dollars to fix their home, only to be left in an even worse state—out $465,000, living in an uninhabitable house, and now battling a legal fight they can’t afford. With no choice but to hire additional contractors, the costs continue to rise beyond what they can handle, leaving them drowning in debt while still trying to pay their bills and fight two lawsuits to hold those responsible accountable.

For the past year and a half, Natalya and Zak have done everything possible to carry this burden alone—taking out loans, maxing out credit lines, working themselves to exhaustion, and receiving support from family. But the weight is too much. While most of us could move, start over, or get a roommate, they don’t have that option. They have no choice but to stay and fight for their home.
