Help Natalie Rebuild After Unexpected Flood Damage
Natalie, a homeowner in Austin, Texas, is facing over $50,000 in flood damage after a recent extreme weather event that was out of her control.
When Natalie bought her home, she was informed it sat on a downhill slope. She took proactive steps to protect it from potential flooding, investing in proper drainage systems and rainwater diversions. Unfortunately, during a recent storm that brought 6 inches of rain in just 30 minutes, water from neighboring properties uphill — where no such protections were in place — flowed directly into her home.
Although Natalie had prepared for heavy rain, the water breached her home laterally, seeping through the walls from the adjacent properties. Because the flooding is considered an “act of God,” her insurance doesn’t cover the damage — and neither legal channels nor assistance programs are able to help.
Every room in the house was affected. Her belongings are currently in storage being treated for mold, and her home needs near-complete restoration, including:
• Mold remediation and demolition
• Stud and drywall repairs
• New flooring, baseboards, and trim
• Cabinets, vanities, and tile work
This fundraiser has been set up to help with repair costs and replacement of essential items. All contributions will go directly toward rebuilding her home and restoring what was lost.
Any amount is deeply appreciated, and sharing this page helps, too. Thank you for considering to support Natalie!
