Hi, my name is Natalie, and I’m reaching out during one of the most challenging times of my life.
My Story
Twelve weeks ago, I made the incredibly difficult decision to leave an abusive situation. I packed what I could into my little car and drove away to safety. It was the hardest thing I’ve ever done, but it was necessary for my well-being and future.
The weeks that followed were a nightmare. While waiting for the council to process my housing application, my location at the previous accommodation was compromised, putting me in danger. The council insisted I sleep in my car overnight until alternative arrangements could be made. During one of the most vulnerable times in my life, my car wasn’t just transportation – it was literally my shelter and my safety.
I’m now in temporary accommodation over 50 miles from my work as a self-employed cleaner. My work is more than just a job – it’s my lifeline, my sense of purpose, and the one constant that keeps me grounded during this difficult time.
Why I Need Your Help
My daughter, who is 14, is in a residential care home receiving support for her mental health under a Section 20 arrangement. While it breaks my heart to be apart from her, I’m committed to being a constant and loving presence in her life through regular visits.
Recently, my old car – the same one that sheltered me when I had nowhere else to go – finally gave up. In desperation, I purchased a replacement through AutoTrader from what I believed was a reputable dealer. Tragically, the car turned out to be dangerously unroadworthy. Despite my efforts to resolve this, the company has refused to communicate or provide a refund, leaving me stranded.
Without a reliable car, I cannot:
• Continue working and supporting myself
• Visit my daughter regularly (those visits are everything to me)
• Maintain the independence and safety I’ve fought so hard to achieve.
How Your Donation Will Help
Funds raised will be used to:
• Purchase a safe, reliable used car
• Cover insurance costs for the first month
A Message of Gratitude
I know asking for help isn’t easy, but I’m in a desperate situation. Any contribution, no matter how small, will make a tremendous difference in helping me rebuild my life and be the mother my daughter needs.
If you’re unable to donate, sharing this campaign with your friends and family would mean the world to me.
Please note: For my safety, the pictures included are not of myself personally.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading my story and for any support you can offer.
With deep gratitude,
Natalie
