I recently had a left foot Sarcoma which is a very rare and aggressive cancer that had been growing at an extremely rapid pace . There are limited chemotherapy and radiation treatments that my particular tumor would have responded to and in order to save my life I needed to have a below the knee amputation . Prior to this I had been an active and productive member of society and spent my time serving students and families that have both learning and emotional disabilities . I have 3 beautiful teenagers that I am very proud and have motivated me to want to endure this scary experience of having my leg amputated so that I can be here for them . As one can imagine , this experience has left me on an unpaid family medical leave , insurance bills and required funds for the best functional prosthetic that would be get me to and going again . Iam currently cannot return home as we have 16 steps up into our rental and several steps inside of the house . Iam staying in a temporary home donated by the outstanding members of the community yet have to leave by April 21 , 2024 as they need the house back for other people that need a place to stay . This experience requires me having to find a new residence that is wheelchair accessible and have certain safety features installed for bathroom and shower safety . My family and I thank you in advance for wanting to contribute in this very trying and difficult time .
