Help Natalie Beat Hodgkin's Lymphoma Cancer

I’d never thought that I’d be typing that Natalie, my beautiful girlfriend, has cancer but we have to be ready for what life has to give us. What started off as a small bump on her neck quickly grew into a cluster of Hodgkin lymphoma cancer. Her family was heart broken. 


November of 2020, Natalie discovered an abnormal sized lymph node on the side of her neck. At first we didn't think much of it and prayed it would go away. Unfortunately the lymph node kept on growing to a point where it concerned us enough to take her to her pediatrician.


On February 2, 2021 Natalie went in to get the lymph node surgically removed. The surgeon ended up taking 3 lymph nodes out. Several days after surgery we got a call from the doctor’s office to come in and talk about the results. Natalie was diagnosed with stage 4 Hodgkin's Lymphoma cancer, it was very heartbreaking to hear that news. 


The doctors wanted to find treatment for Natalie right away. Since Natalie is 17 years old and there is no pediatric oncologist on Maui, they have to find an oncologist for her on Oahu. Natalie and her mom, Katka, have been traveling between Maui and Oahu to Kapiolani Women’s and Children’s hospital weekly for her testings; CT scan, needle biopsy, PET scan, pulmonary function test, and blood work. Natalie’s family decided it would be best to start her on a clinical trial chemotherapy treatment, which she would start sometime this week.


The money we hope to raise for Natalie and her family would be used for travel expenses back and forth from Maui to Oahu for treatments, as well as mounting medical bills and living expenses so her mom can stay home and take care of Natalie as she goes through her 24 weeks of Chemotherapy treatments.  Any amount of donation that you could give would be so appreciated.   It has been such a difficult year financially for her family as her mom is a single mom who was never able to get any Unemployment after losing her job due to the Covid shutdown on Maui.
