Help Natalie and Hazel
Donation protected
So let me tell you about my nieces.
Natalie is 3 years old and loves being a big sister. She's energetic, caring, confident, and bold. She loves animals, especially her cat, Squirt. She is a very normal 3 year old.
Hazel is 2 years old and is the middle child of her family. Hazel is soft spirited, funny, fearless, and is always ready to provide the biggest belly laugh you'll ever hear.
They have a younger brother, Lukas, who in simply the happiest baby in the world. The two girls are unquestionably his biggest cheerleaders.
Above is a photo of the two girls in the hospital while being treated for E. coli.
It is with a sad and heavy heart to say these two girls are not the only ones effected by this terrible illness, two cousins in Indiana have been infected with it as well.
Early December, my sister and her family of 5 drove to Indiana to help her in-laws by keeping their house in order and to keep their lives on track as much as possible. Upon returning home, it was evident that Hazel wasn't well, through the next couple of days, tests were run on Hazel and Natalie and it became a unfortunate fact that my nieces had E. coli as well.
As many don't know, E.coli has many different strains and each strain can effect each person differently. This strain can lead to HUS and have deathly results. HUS can destroy blood vessels and in turn damages the kidneys leading to Kidney failure.

Hazel has been diagnosed with HUS. It was imminent that Hazel needed help with nutrition and to get this toxin out of her blood. On December 13, 2019 she underwent a procedure to put in a port required for dialysis and a tube to provide nutrition to save her life. She made it through the procedure and her first round of dialysis was successful. She is presently in the ICU.
Natalie currently seems to be recovering from E. coli and is regaining her appetite along with her silly personality which I've loved watching from Facebook video chats. She is in a pediatric room and is expected to stay for possibly another week.
My sister and her husband are coping and processing all of these events they've witnesses to the best of their abilities. Their main focus is loving and being with their children at this time.
My brother in law has been an incredible father to his children. This has kept him from returning to work.
That is why I've taken it upon myself, with the help and support of our family, to try to come up with a solution to their medical bills, rent, utilities, and other financial burdens that will need to be handled.
Right now the major expenses looming are
the surgeries/procedures for Hazel
the countless tests on both children
the transfer from one hospital to another( one hospital didn't have the resources or support needed to treat the girls)
Unfortunately, my sisters family is painfully under-insured and the costs will easily double or triple what we're all hoping this GoFundMe helps bring in.
Any donation is greatly appreciated, but the family would also appreciate any prayers you can send to the children.
Thank you for anything you can do.
