Girls Mentor Girls is helping raise funds for Natalia and her family after Hurricane Melissa destroyed their home in Jamaica on October 28, 2025.

Natalia is a new mentee of Girls Mentor Girls who joined us in September of 2025 after hearing about the program from her cousin who is currently a mentor.

Natalia is one of our new New Yorkers who migrated to the US from Jamaica this past March 2025.

Natalia's mother still resides in Jamaica with her 11-year-old sister. Her mother was greatly affected by Hurricane Melissa, which completely destroyed their home. The family was displaced as the kitchen was destroyed, and part of the roof was blown off. Funds raised for this family will go towards rebuilding their home and purchasing school supplies and clothing for Natalia's younger sister.
