**UPDATE 12/1**

This may be a little long but here is my update. I am finally home and recovering and it has been the longest almost two weeks. As you know, I went into have a benign tumor removed from my pituitary gland endoscopically (through my nose) that caused me to have a rare condition called acromegaly. So I had brain surgery on the 18th and was discharged on the 20th. I returned to the ER on the 21st because I was not feeling right (lightheaded and turned white as a sheet) and they admitted me back because my sodium levels were becoming dangerously low. I was back into the neuro ICU as before and had my electrolytes and urine output monitored. As I posted before, it is common for me to have complications with Diabetes Insipidus (water diabetes) with the surgery I had. Monday, the 24th I had the splints in my nasal passages removed by ENT and about an hour later, the left side started bleeding, and they came back and got in under control. Later that night, by right nasal passage started bleeding and would not stop with all efforts from myself and my nurses. Another ENT had to come from a different hospital to control the bleeding with suction and lidocaine and eventually "balloons" to stop the bleeding until my surgeon could arrive in the morning to assess. That was the worst pain having so much pressure after the surgery (see picture). My surgeon decided to put me back under and cauterize the blood vessels in both sides to stop the bleeding. All went well with that surgery. Tuesday night I was transferred to the ICU because my sodium levels were just too low and nothing else was working. In the ICU I had a central line inserted near my clavicle (see picture) and this line made it so they could get the concentrated sodium IV in my system quickly and safely. I remained in ICU the rest of the week and they got my sodium back to a safe range. I was discharged on Saturday the 29th and I have been resting at home. I have to take sodium tablets daily and steroids for a few months and I will have a lot of follow up visits. What ended up happening is my body was basically reacting the opposite of how water diabetes works and my body was pushing out the sodium with my urine, so it was a condition called SIADH. I am SO grateful for all the prayers, good vibes, and anything else that was sent my way. I know you all had a great deal with my healing so thank you! I am not out of the clear yet, but I am feeling much better. Thank you all for your donations and getting me to a little over halfway with my fund! Please share if you could and/or continue to send more prayers because I am exhausted. ❤️

If you know me, you know how much I keep to myself so I don’t have to burden others with what I have going on (we are all going through it and there is ALWAYS something going on). This is also really vulnerable for me to create because one, it’s personal, and two, I don’t like to ask for help especially financially.

In June I went to the ER for an awful headache that was different than my normal migraines. That visit led me to a referral to a neurologist, which led me to have an MRI. What was discovered is that I have a pituitary adenoma (benign tumor). With this discovery, I had to see an Endocrinologist. If you don’t know, the pituitary gland is where our hormones are created and released. I had multiple blood tests to find out that I have a rare condition called acromegaly (causes excess growth hormone). This condition was caused by the adenoma, and first line treatment is removal. If they aren’t able to remove it all (it’s not close to the largest my neurosurgeon has seen, but it’s close to my optic nerves so they have to be careful) I will do radiation and I may need to be on medication the rest of my life from what comes of the removal. My surgery is on November 18th, and they will access the tumor/gland though my nose…so I am having brain surgery.

With all that said, I left my job of 5 1/2 years at the beginning of September due to the amount of stress, anxiety, depression, and suicidal ideation I was having. I tried to fight through it as much as I could, but nothing should make me not want to be alive so I chose to take a break and start looking for something else while I got my mind ok. I found out all these results the last week at my job, so my job searching has been on hold because it’s not right to start a new job knowing I would have to be out for a few weeks. I have been driving for Uber to make money for my bills and have made enough for the past few months, but I am struggling for December’s bills. I know how embarrassing this is when my bills are my own responsibility. I also know everyone’s struggling in this economy and it’s also the holiday season. But I figured I would ask for help anyhow.

I am hopeful for the surgery to go well, but any prayers, good vibes, anything at all are appreciated because I am a little scared.

Thank you for reading this far. Love, Nat.
