Hi there,

This is a page started by concerned Canadians fighting for our friend living under horrific conditions in Gaza. He is trying to get his family to safety so he can continue his lifesaving humanitarian work under the siege in Gaza.

Statement from Ahmed:

Hi, my name is Ahmed, currently living in Gaza with my wife and five children whose ages range from 10 months to 16 years old. Like many families, we have been displaced from central Gaza to Rafah, living under extremely difficult conditions.

I am a qualified physiotherapist who has dedicated his life to support people in Gaza with amputations, spinal deformities and other physical disabilities when employed by international non-governmental organisations.

Throughout my life I have worked closely with patients and their families, providing a fully supportive rehabilitation program, assisting them in their recovery to be a valuable member of society. This has been more of a struggle in recent times as you may appreciate.

I used to manage (with an amazing team of professionals) a physiotherapy centre that I built brick by brick through hard work and perseverance. Sad as it is, all our dreams have been shattered.

My story is no different from other Gazan people who have recently suffered with the loss of their homes, their families, and every cherished belonging that they possessed.

My main obstacle today is concerning my own family whom I am in constant fear about their wellbeing and safety.

My daughter Hala is 14 years old and has special needs whose medical care is no longer feasible here. I am in utter desperation to move us all out of Gaza so Hala can receive the correct care she needs.

By removing my wife and children from Gaza I will also ultimately be able to focus further on my humanitarian work and provide all the help and care for those in need.
