Naseema Begum Shaik, my childhood friend Ranjith's wife, devoted wife and loving mother to their two teen boys. She is a great teacher who loved teaching English to her 10th-grade students at Guntur's Central Public School until the Pandemic hit. She enjoyed her teaching profession and spent close to 20 years helping and nurturing countless number of students. She is very active in their church, Jesus Christ of Nazareth Ministries JCNM.
Life took a hit for this family when she was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia in Blast Crisis at Christian Medical College, Vellore, in November 2021. It came as a shock for the energetic Naseema. Still, with her strong faith and loving family by her side, she endured Chemotherapy which was started at CMC Vellore and then her care was transferred to Basavatharakam Indo-American Cancer Hospital & Research Institute, Hyderabad.
She endured all the side effects and complications of chemotherapy without complaining or questioning why, as the family scrambled to pay the enormous medical bills that followed. Many friends, family members, her old students and even strangers have contributed towards her first cycle of Chemotherapy by donating directly and through Milaap, a fundraiser in India.
She has now developed one of the rare complications of AML, with the disease spreading to her Brain and Cranial Nerves. She will need targeted Chemotherapy and Radiation Therapy. As she bravely faces this battle, we ask that you donate any amount towards her treatment expenses.
Thank you for your prayers and kind donations.
