Meet Narwhal, our 7 1/2 year old smush-o-pup, pit-lab mix. She's the best. We adopted Narwhal in October 2014 when she was just a few months old, and she's been our constant adventure companion ever since.

The Bad News: Narwhal has bladder cancer and is urinating blood daily :(

The Good News: It's indicated for successful surgery!


More about Narwhal: She loves chasing after birds, suntanning with her choco-lab pal Gilbert, climbing onto elevated surfaces for a heightened perspective, and napping under the covers for hours on end. Narwhal will come when you whistle the mockingjay tune from The Hunger Games. Narwhal's favorite food? Food. Favorite sport? Tetherball. Favorite movie? A tie between Elf and The Hunger Games.

This is such an expensive surgery that we decided to ask our broader community and the world at large for financial help. The surgery date is coming up soon on August, 31st.

The high end of the estimate is just over $8,500. We're asking for $8,500 to cover the high end of estimate, to account for some of the payment fees on this platform, and also because we've already spent almost $3,000 on diagnostics like ultrasounds, x-rays, specialty tests, and consults.
