Help Alex Narcisse Family with a Place to Stay

A Place for us to lay our head, recover & keep Alex Narcisse's Urn 

After agonizing over our situation, we have consulted trusted family and friends for advice and have agreed to update our GO FUND ME account with the sole intent to find a place to lay our head and a place to have Alex, aka Saint Stephen with us while we recuperate and recover. The original donations were almost nine months ago!!! It is 1 day SHORT OF A FULL YEAR since Ulysses was hit by a car in Houston and left for dead on the side of the road with a shattered leg, torn ACL in his knee and several injuries to his back. His trucking company is fighting Worker’s Comp and North Carolina Laws where his company is based does not allow attorneys to pay things for clients. We have been trying to keep our family intact with my Teacher’s Retirement of less than $1000 a month. Ulysses has only seen a Dr to remove his staples when the skin started to grow over them. He has had to relearn to walk with only my help and isaiah. He cannot stand or sit for long. He is exhausted all day. It has been gruesome to witness but he will never give up.  TO ADD INSULT TO INJURY, ULYSSES LOST HIS CDL LICENSE AND CAN ONLY GET A STATE ID AND NO DRIVER’S LICENSE. UNTIL HE IS MEDICALLY CLEARED, HE CANNOT DRIVE ANY VEHICLE. HIS ABILITY TO PROVIDE FOR US IS GONE. He needs intensive physical therapy to help rebuild his muscles, his leg is still badly bruised after a year. Every time the muscles start to shift, he gets huge, painful bruising. HE IS DETERMINED TO REHABILITATE AND RETURN TO TRUCK DRVING. The accident came 9 weeks after we lost Ulysses’ brother in a tragic fire and then less than 3 months after that, we lost ALEX. Honestly, our dignity is all we have left at this point. My car broke 6 months ago but we couldn’t afford to get it repaired. WE ARE NOT GOING TO BE ABLE TO KEEP ANYTHING BUT OUR BEDROOM SETS AND MY GRANDFATHER’S FURNITURE. Most of our clothing is being donated or thrown out. EVERYTHING ELSE PRETTY MUCH HAS TO GO. WE CANNOT STORE IT. WE HAVE NO PLACE TO GO AT THIS POINT. AS OF THE END OF THIS MONTH, WE WILL BE HOMELESS. REMEMBER THE TALK ABOUT PEOPLE TRULY BEING A FEW CHECKS FROM BEING IN THE SAME SITUATIOn? It happened to us in the blink of an eye.  

Ulysses is a VERY private person and does not like to ask for help. I don’t ask for help easy either but we have no choice at this point. Our landlord VERBALLY told us we have to be out in days without uttering a single word to us that he was going to “repurpose the dwelling” months ago. We did NOT even have a lease with his name anywhere on it. JUST HIS MOTHER’S & it expired in JANUARY OF 2021. WE WERE ONLY 5 days late on rent. We were struggling but surviving. When he had the ability to months ago, he said NOTHING. He wanted to make sure the deal went through and without a single regard for my family. His mother would NEVER have done this to us but she passed away in JULY of 2019. Her beloved family would never have done this to anyone, they are well respected members of our community. We have been here 10 years and he told us “we were his best tenants” but that does not matter when millions of dollars are on the line. A little consideration, a little kindness, a little professional behavior, a little notice was all we would have asked. We understand this is his business but we are human beings. We cannot move if we have no place to go and zero resources to do it. How can we find a house or apartment to rent with only a few days’ notice and no ability to secure housing. He knew this was coming and only finally said something when I accidentally observed him surveying the property with City Officials a few days before. You don’t do big deals without a trial of paperwork. I truly hope my Alma Mater is not involved in this deal; it would be devastating to see every time I visit the campus. My family would be unforgiving as well. The house across the street was recently sold or is being REPURPOSED to ULL. He owns a ginormous parking lot adjacent to our home which is a prime real estate concern if you want to make deals with the University.  You just do not do this to ANYONE, much less your “best tenants.” He even told us, “ Pack some stuff and just leave;” he’ll hire people to throw all our stuff away. We may not have much but they are our treasures. This house has many bad memories and we have NO issue with moving IF HE HAD informed us this was going to happen eventually but definitely way before DAYS. THAT’S NOT HOW YOU DO GOOD BUSINESS, PERIOD. At this point, we don’t even have money for a hotel. Ulysses said our story seems unimaginable but It is very honest and very real. None of this was our fault but we are the ones having to pay a hefty price. I just want a place to sleep, a few personal items, a few outfits we will keep and food in our belly and a table to place Alex’s URN with us. PERIOD. Basic human needs. Nothing fancy, nothing extravagant, nothing not absolutely needed. Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated. You can also send Cash App to $GenLemoine. We are also in need of plastic storage crates which will keep our things from mildewing or getting damaged. If you work for a hotel or motel please let me know if your facility rents by the month. Maybe you know someone who is looking for a house sitter for whatever reason, for the summer for example.  Do you have a camper we could rent from or loan us? We are thinking survival, that’s it. We thank everyone for all the support you have already given to my family in the last year. You will never fully know what it has meant to us. I know Alex’s soul cannot rest if he is worried about his family living on the streets. My mom cannot deal with any more stress. None of us can, least of all, me. GOD BLESS you.
