On December 13th, 2021 our tranquil lives took an unexpected turn. My dad, Narciso Flores, a hard-working cook and family man, began to complain of a headache and a strange fever. After a visit to the urgent care, he was dismissed with a diagnosis of a mild cold. Later that night, Narciso's headache worsened and began to act delirious. His condition concerned us, so we took him to the hospital. Unfortunately, he was diagnosed with a severe case of viral meningitis, which means his brain became swollen due to a viral infection. During his ten day stay at the hospital, he was subjected to numerous MRIs and CT scans to evaluate the extent of damage to his brain.
His brain infection resulted in seizures and short-term and long-term memory loss. He is now recovering at home and being taken care of by his wife, Maria Flores. However, Narciso's recovery is slow and will need cognitive therapy for the next few months. My dad is eager to return to work, but his condition does not allow him to yet.
His sudden illness has caused immense stress and now we face a tremendous financial burden that we cannot afford. We are asking for financial assistance from our community to help offset his medical expenses. Please consider donating any amount to this fund.
Thank you for taking your time to read this, and thank you for your kindly help.
