Matteo is starting this fundraiser for his girlfriend, Naomi, as she faces an overwhelming series of medical challenges all at once. Recently, Naomi was diagnosed with severe stage 1 ovarian cancer and ovarian cysts. At the same time, she was also told she has a tumor in her thyroid and a tumor in her adrenal gland. In just a few weeks, Naomi will need to undergo major surgery, and she will begin chemotherapy right after. While health insurance will cover part of her treatment, it will not cover everything, and the copays and out-of-pocket costs are adding up quickly during an already difficult time.
