Support for Juanita"Nanny"Martinez Battle Against Breast Cancer
Dear Friends, Family, and Kindhearted Strangers,
I am reaching out with a heavy heart but also with immense hope. My dear friend, Juanita Martinez—best known as Nanny to family and close friends —has recently been diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma, a form of breast cancer.
If you know Nanny, you know she is the kindest, most selfless person you could ever meet. She has always put others before herself, but now, she needs our help.
Nanny’s journey has already been filled with unimaginable hardships. She is the devoted mother of a son who has juvenile Huntington’s disease, requiring around-the-clock care. Despite the emotional and physical toll, she has never wavered in her love and dedication to him.
Heartbreak has visited her family too often—just a short time ago, she lost her precious granddaughter, Baby Sofie, to brain cancer at only 15 months old. Her family is still grieving that profound loss, and now, they are facing yet another devastating challenge.
To make matters even more difficult, Nanny recently lost her job of over 20 years, adding financial stress on top of everything else.
But despite all this, Nanny remains the same loving, giving, and strong woman we all admire. Now, as she prepares for her first surgery on April 17, we want to surround her with the love, support, and financial relief she so deeply deserves.
We are asking for any contributions—no matter how small—to help cover medical expenses, daily living costs, and care for her son during her treatment and recovery. If you cannot donate, we completely understand, but please share this page and keep Nanny in your prayers.
Thank you for taking the time to read Nanny’s story. Let’s show her the same love and generosity she has shown so many throughout her life.
With gratitude,
Devonna
