Help Nancy get back on the road again

My name is Nancy, and I am currently going through a very difficult hardship. I recently had a car accident and totaled my car (which was hard fought for). I currently work part-time but try to pick up extra shifts to make full-time. In the last 1-2 years, things have significantly changed with me having surgery, which has led me to only part-time work at a significantly lower wage. I am a unit clerk and sitter for our patients with dementia with behavioral issues. I am very good at helping our patients who deal with this issue as well as keeping them and our staff safe.

I enjoy working and like to help where I can! I have always been the helper! This is hard and very humbling for me to reach out for help. I’ve worked at the hospital for almost 20 years as a nursing assistant. I loved my job, and I love helping!

My father and I lived together. He also has later-stage dementia and now lives with my niece, who just had a baby that came 8 weeks early! I assist in caring for my dad, but I live 30 minutes away. I’ve been struggling with my own pain issues and trying to work to make ends barely meet. Then the auto accident happened, and it’s pushing me quickly to not making it! I’ve always tried to help others before helping myself, and this time I’m barely above water!

Please help me regain some firm ground so I can help myself and others.
