Hurricane Helene - Help Nancy Restore Her Art Shop & Home

All, My name is Paula and I'm asking to help my neighbor, Nancy Beckham. We live in Cedar Key, FL and Nancy lost everything, including her house and business (her income) when Hurricane Helene decimated Cedar Key.

Nancy is currently living with a neighbor. She has no insurance because insurance costs have become too expensive in Florida for a lot of people. Nancy is an unsung hero to her neighbors. She has helped them over the years and especially before Hurricane Helene. She helped secure and move possessions for neighbors who were not at home. Nancy filmed this storm surge video and shared it with her neighbors so they could see what was happening during the storm. She also helped her neighbors in the aftermath to salvage and preserve what was left of their homes and possessions. The video shows her house and business being flooded.

Nancy is hardworking, kind, and resilient. She is an 8th generation Cedar Key native. She was an oyster farmer, but that industry is near its end, as oysters are dying out along the Florida Gulf Coast. Nancy being a resilient person, switched gears from Oyster farming and opened an Art Shop, catering to locals and tourists who visit Cedar Key. Nancy (like many others in town) relies on tourism for her income. Tourism will not return to Cedar Key for some time while the town is rebuilt. Nancy will need some funds to help her find temporary housing and to get by for a little while until she can rebuild her home and business and the tourists return. Nancy has always been giving and helpful and is the type of neighbor everyone is grateful to have close by. Please Consider helping Nancy through this hardship.
