Our mom, Nancy, is a registered nurse who has dedicated over 40 years to her patients in labor & delivery and hospice care. After a lifetime of putting everyone else first, she now needs our support during the most challenging chapter of her life.
Nancy needs a total knee replacement — a major surgery that she cannot afford and that will temporarily prevent her from working.
At 64, after decades of helping families through some of life’s most meaningful and difficult moments, our mom now finds herself without savings. Her financial cushion was wiped out by years of previous medical challenges and hospitalizations, leaving her starting over with nothing.
We are so grateful to have our mom back — she has been happy and healthy for over a year. Without savings or benefits, she works as a delivery driver to cover her expenses. She now needs knee replacement surgery, which will temporarily prevent her from working.
Why We're Fundraising
Our mom deserves dignity, stability, and peace as she moves into the next chapter of her life.
She lives so sparsely it's almost monastic - she has barely any personal belongings and is constantly giving to others. She recently moved into a 400 sq ft studio apartment down the street from my sister, and is so happy to have what she calls 'her nest' - we really don't want her to lose this sense of home.
Despite everything, she remains resilient with an impeccable sense of humor and so much love to give. She taught us that "you make your own happiness in this world" - she's never one to blame others for her circumstances, but we could really use your help in giving her the stability she needs to get back to baseline.
