My name is Sangam Shrestha, and I’ve been living in Canada for almost two years now.

I’m writing this with a heavy heart for my dearest friend, Nancy Thapa, who is now fighting for her life against stage 4 cervical cancer.

Nancy is from Butwal, Rupandehi, Nepal. Her life has been filled with struggles from the very beginning. She lost both her parents when she was still a young child — they passed away in an accident while on their way to pick her up from school. Since that tragic day, she has had no one to depend on, yet she has faced every hardship with incredible courage.

After her parents’ death, her family was left with some debt, and to pay it off, Nancy began working in casinos between Nepal and India. She worked long, tiring hours just to survive. Despite her pain, she always kept a smile on her face, believed in goodness, and prayed for others’ happiness.

Even after learning that she had cancer, Nancy continued working because she had no money for treatment. She believed that as long as she could move, she could still fight and take care of herself. That’s how strong she is.

She was first diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2023–2024, and after recovering from that, she was later diagnosed with stage 4 cervical cancer. She was hospitalized in Nepal, but sadly, the doctors there gave up on her, saying there was no hope left.

Still, Nancy didn’t give up. With whatever little she had left, she traveled to India to continue her treatment, hoping for a miracle and fighting with every bit of strength she has left.

Nancy is one of the most hardworking, humble, and kind-hearted souls I’ve ever known. She never complains, never blames anyone, and always says:“Good things should happen to others, even if life is hard for me.”

But now, her situation is critical, and she desperately needs help. The cost of her treatment, medicines, and hospital care in India is far beyond what she or I can afford. I’ve supported her for as long as I could, but now I’m reaching out to all of you — kind-hearted people from around the world — for help.

Please help Nancy — a beautiful soul who deserves a chance to live.
