Help Nancy Evans Fight Cancer
Donation protected
In the Fall of 2016 my friend, Nancy Evans, was diagnosed with bilateral invasive ductal carcinoma (Double breast cancer). She was in seminary at the time and working for Chubb Insurance. She endured nine months of chemotherapy, 40 radiation treatments, five surgeries and thirteen nerve block injections. She may have lost her hair, but never lost her lovely sense of humor and certainly not Faith in God. She has been in remission for three years, enjoying the gift of life and doing great things in this world. After a recent check-up with her doctor, she received the tough news that her cancer has returned. Because of this, she has been unable to work and will likely not be able to return until she successfully completes her treatments. Her medical expenses are all not covered by Medicare and with the everyday necessities of life, money is getting tighter and tighter. Her monthly disability award is approximately only less than $1,200.
Nancy is a blessing ~ strong and selfless - and has always been available to give her love, support or whatever she could to anyone that needs it.
Now, it's time that we can send back some of that love and support to Nancy Evans. Anything you can donate will be truly appreciated. Everything we can do to help and surround her with love is what is most important so she can focus on beating this thing. LEND A HAND IF YOU CAN. Please share this and spread the word. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. #KICKCANCER'SASS
Here below, Nancy's personal story (in her own words) follows ...
"My life has been full, doing my ministry, marching and working on social justice and discrimination. I have a grandson now. Two weeks ago, I was told by my doctor that my cancer is back. It is called metastatic breast cancer and it has moved to other areas in my body. It is in my lymph nodes and prominently in my para-aortic lymph nodes. No surgery can be done nor can any radiation. Without treatment they say I have six months or less to live. With the treatment, the doctors are unsure, as it depends on how my body reacts.
I begin palative care (end of life comfort) tomorrow. As you can imagine, this has been a large shock to my family, friends and of course myself. With my failing health and insurance job sales, all my benefits have been cancelled. I am no longer able to work. I am single with two little dogs and a world of love and prayers around me. I am keeping my life as normal as possible, still dancing, laughing alot and letting God lead the way. I'm thankful for all I have, all I've done and will continue to do until my work here is done. Much love to all and remember ... every breath is a gift from God."
